November 20 - December 18, 2010 ( click on any image to enlarge - please enable pop-up windows) New work by Santa Fe, New Mexico artist Brandon Behning will be featured in a solo exhibition at Plush Gallery. The artist, a member of the influential Meow Wolf collective, will show new collage and assemblage pieces, as well as abstract paintings. Displayed in conjunction will be the group exhibition Introductions pt. ii, featuring new work by Nancy Brown, Celia Eberle, and Floyd McLeod. Nancy Brown makes acrylic on canvas paintings which vividly examine mark-making and process. She has been painting full-time since completing her Master of Fine Arts degree from Southern Methodist University in 2006. The sculpture of Celia Eberle finds the commonality between ancient and contemporary motifs. She has fashioned an extensive exhibition history, having shown over the last twenty years at Grey Matters, Mulcahy Modern, and Road Agent galleries. Harlan Lovestone, of Detroit, channels African-American cultural motifs through an Abstract Expressionist sensibility, utilizing splashed on paint layers and collage elements. Floyd McLeod is the alter-ego of a Houston-based working artist. He came into existence somewhat accidentally, as the result of a classroom demonstration on abstract painting. As he says, "I want the work to stand on its own, without a mythological artist's myth to add to the work". 918 Dragon Street • Dallas TX 75207 • 214-915-0925 • info@plushgallery.com |
